Animal Science & Biotechnology program integrates the newest biotechnology into traditional animal science. Thus, the education goal of Animal Science & Biotechnology program is to professionally educate, train and prepare students to be a successful leader for the future industrial and academic area of the animal science. In order to achieve the ultimate goal, areas of focus include physiology, genetics, bioinformatics, reproduction, nutrition, microbiology and environmental engineering. It will serve the world to drive improved quality of life. All of the laboratories are grouped into three areas represented by Animal Genetic Engineering, Animal Bioresource Engineering and Nutritional and Environmental Engineering. They are conducting high quality research through active interaction and collaboration between laboratories. Study programs includes genetics, physiology and biochemistry to educate basic knowledge. The mission of the department of Food and Animal Biotechnology includes research and education to apply biotechnology on food and animal resources. The major area of food biotechnology is to study modern food technology related to human health and food industry. Thus, the mission of the food biotechnology is to educate its students to serve in the area throughout the world. The primary objective of the major in Animal Science & Biotechnology is to educate its student to reach the level of leadership for 21st century in the animal biotechnology. Thus, our research is focused on development of bio-resources and bio-reactors as well as technology to uncover complex disease for animal and human.
